Ketua Umum Partai Garuda (Gerakan Perubahan Indonesia), Ahmad Ridha Sabana, mengaku sebagai adik dari Ketua Dewan Pimpinan Pusat (DPP) Partai Gerakan Indonesia Raya (Gerindra), Ahmad Riza Patria. Patria merupakan kader Partai Gerindra yang saat ini juga menjabat sebagai Wakil Ketua Komisi II Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) RI.
“Kalau itu (adik dari Patria) kan fakta, tidak mungkin saya bilang tidak,” ujar Sabana dalam konferensi pers yang diselenggarakan di Hotel Lumire Senen, Jakarta Pusat, Senin 19 Februari 2018.
Sabana juga mengakui bahwa dirinya pernah mencalonkan diri sebagai anggota legislatif dari partai politik (parpol) yang dipimpin Prabowo Subianto itu.
“Itu (menjadi caleg Gerindra) kan dulu. Semua saya kira biasa ya seperti itu,” ujar Sabana.
Meski demikian, Sabana menegaskan bahwa Garuda sama sekali tidak memiliki keterkaitan dengan Gerindra. Sabana membantah Garuda adalah parpol yang dibentuk dengan tujuan memecah suara pemillih antara Garuda dan Gerindra pada Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) 2019.
